Materials Needed

  • Plate
  • Borax
  • Water
  • Mixing stick
  • Measuring spoons
  • Dropper
  • Clear glue
  • Glitter
An assortment of materials, likely for a science experiment or craft project, is arranged on a light woodgrain table. From left to right, the items include: a small glass beaker with a white powder, a glass measuring cup with a wooden handle containing clear liquid, three small containers of colorful glitter or beads (pink, orange, and purple), a clear bottle with a blue cap containing a clear liquid (possibly glue), a white plate with bear-ear-shaped protrusions, a wooden stirring stick, two black measuring spoons of different sizes, and a clear pipette or dropper. This image likely depicts the ingredients and tools gathered before starting the activity.

Step-by-step tutorial

Step 1

Mix 1/2 teaspoon of borax into 60ml of water and stir until dissolved. Be careful not to get the borax solution in your eyes.

A hand holds a black 1/2 teaspoon measuring spoon filled with white granules, likely salt or sugar, over a clear glass measuring cup containing water. The cup sits on a light woodgrain table, and the water level is between the 15ml and 30ml markings. A small, brown cylindrical object, possibly a cork or wooden dowel, floats in the water. The image likely depicts a step in a science experiment demonstrating density or solubility.
Step 2

Pour three tablespoons of clear glue onto the plate.

A hand pours a clear liquid from a small, black measuring spoon onto a white plate with bear-ear-shaped protrusions. The plate sits on a light woodgrain table, and a small puddle of the liquid is forming on the plate's surface. This image likely depicts a stage in a recipe or experiment where a liquid ingredient is being added.
Step 3

Choose your favourite glitter and pour it onto the plate, mixing it thoroughly with the glue using the mixing stick.

A hand pours iridescent purple glitter from a small, clear container onto a white plate with bear-ear-shaped protrusions. Some glitter has already been poured onto the plate, and the plate sits on a light woodgrain table. This image likely depicts adding glitter to a craft project, perhaps slime making or another similar activity.
Step 4

Using the dropper, gradually add 6ml of borax solution, adding 1ml at a time while continuously stirring the mixture.

Two hands are engaged in mixing a substance on a white plate with bear-ear-shaped protrusions. One hand holds a clear pipette or dropper above the plate, while the other hand stirs a swirling mixture of a clear liquid and purple glitter with a small wooden stick. The plate rests on a light woodgrain table. This image likely depicts a step in making slime or a similar craft project.
Step 5

Stir until the glue mixture begins to solidify, then roll it into a ball with your hands. If the mixture is too soft, use the dropper to add another 1-2ml of borax solution.

A small, oval-shaped piece of light purple slime or putty, speckled with glitter, rests on a white plate with bear-ear-shaped protrusions. The plate sits on a light woodgrain table. This image likely shows the finished product of a slime-making activity.
Step 6

Your glitter bouncy ball is now ready to play with! Try making different variations using different coloured glitter. Remember to wash your hands thoroughly after playing.

Two hands hold a small, bright pink ball and a sparkly purple ball. Both balls appear to be made of a soft, rubbery, or gel-like material. The hands release the balls, and they bounce on a light wooden surface. The video showcases the bouncy and tactile qualities of two colorful balls.
