Materials Needed

  • Cardboard box
  • Ruler
  • Pencil
  • Coloured pencils
  • Coins
A flat, open cardboard box lies on a light wooden table. Next to it are a clear plastic ruler, a blue pencil, and a small silver coin. A clear glass or jar containing a collection of colored pencils sits near the top right corner. The arrangement suggests the preparation for a craft or construction project.

Step-by-step tutorial

Step 1

Use a pencil to mark dots on the cardboard box, spacing them 5cm apart as shown.

A rectangular piece of flat cardboard rests on a light wooden surface. The cardboard has a grid of small, evenly spaced holes punched in it. The numbers 2, 4, and 3 are written repeatedly along the left edge of the cardboard, likely indicating measurements or a pattern for a craft or game.
Step 2

Using the pencil, make holes at the marked points.

A hand holding a blue crayon colors one of several pre-punched holes in a piece of light brown cardboard. The cardboard sits on a white textured surface. The image suggests a craft activity in progress.
Step 3

Together with family or friends, insert coloured pencils into the holes.

Children's hands are inserting colored pencils—pink, red, blue, and yellow—into the pre-punched holes of a piece of light brown cardboard. The cardboard rests on a white textured surface. This image depicts a playful and creative activity, likely a craft or game involving color and coordination.
Step 4

Place coins on the box and compete with your partner - the first player to flick their coin to their opponent's side wins!

A piece of cardboard with pre-punched holes is filled with an array of upright colored pencils. The pencils vary in color, including shades of green, pink, red, blue, orange, purple, gray, brown, and white. A child's hand is visible in the bottom right corner, placing a yellow pencil into one of the holes. The cardboard sits on a white textured surface. The image captures a colorful and engaging activity, likely a craft or game designed for children.
